Aftercare Instructions for Auto Window Tinting

Drying Time for Window Film

It typically takes 2-5 days for our 3M film adhesive to fully cure and bond to the glass. During this time, you may notice:

• Hazy, streaky, or bubbly windows: This is normal and will clear up as the film dries.
• Temporary water streaks on the exterior: Simply rinse them off with plain water.

Important Tips During the Drying Period:

• Do not roll down your windows for at least 2-5 days.
• Avoid touching or cleaning the inside of your windows.
• For newer vehicles, temporary false sensor readings may occur on the front windshield due to moisture. These will self-correct within 2-7 days.
• To speed up the curing process, park your vehicle in direct sunlight.

How to Clean Tinted Windows

Once the film has fully cured, follow these cleaning guidelines to maintain its quality:

• Use Tint-Safe Cleaners:
  • 3M Glass Cleaner
  • Stoner Invisible Glass (Tint Safe) Cleaner
  • Armor-All Auto Glass Cleaner
  • Meguiar’s Perfect Clarity Auto Glass Cleaner
• Avoid Ammonia-Based Products: Never use cleaners like Windex, as they can damage the film.
• Use the Right Tools:
  • Clean with soft, microfiber towels to prevent scratches.
  • Avoid sponges, generic paper towels, or newspapers.

Note: You can wash the exterior of your car immediately after installation, but avoid cleaning the interior near the windows and door panels during the drying period.

Quality Control & Imperfections

At Tint Masters Maui, we take every precaution to ensure a clean and professional installation. We use:

• Reverse-osmosis triple-purified water for all installs.
• 0.5-micron filters on our sprayers to minimize contaminants.
• An enclosed, quality-controlled environment to reduce airborne dust.

However, due to the nature of window film and environmental factors, minor imperfections may occur, such as:

• Pre-existing scratches or metal deposits in the glass becoming more noticeable.
• Silver streaks (metal rubs) caused by objects like strollers or ladders.
• Light reflections off defogger lines on rear windows.

To minimize imperfections, we recommend thoroughly cleaning your vehicle inside and out before installation. Newer vehicles or freshly cleaned windows typically result in fewer imperfections.

Warranty Coverage

What’s Covered:

• Bubbling, peeling, and delamination when proper aftercare is followed.
• Lifetime warranties on select 3M films, including:
  • Ceramic IR: Lifetime Warranty
  • Crystalline: Lifetime Warranty
  • Front Windshield Ceramic: Lifetime Warranty
  • Front Windshield Crystalline: Lifetime Warranty

What’s Not Covered:

• Scratches, dings, or chips caused by seatbelt buckles or other objects.
• Pre-existing imperfections in the glass.
• Customer damage or improper care.

Note: Misplaced receipts may void warranty eligibility. Be sure to save your receipt and e-warranty card (if applicable) to activate your warranty.

Front Windshield Tinting: Full Disclosure

Tinting your front windshield offers incredible benefits, including:

• 99% UV protection
• Heat and glare reduction
• Enhanced privacy

However, due to factors like glass curvature, thickness, and airborne dust, achieving a completely flawless installation is not guaranteed. You may notice:

• Tiny dust particles appearing as pinpoint bubbles.
• Enhanced visibility of pre-existing glass imperfections, such as distortion or waviness.

While we strive for perfection, these factors are inherent to the tinting process. All front windshield tints meet Hawaii’s legal requirements, and installation is performed at your own risk. No refunds will be issued once the work is completed, and removal fees may apply if you choose to have the film removed.
